Byron Bay Loves Schoolies!

August 24th, 2010 | Archive | from the real byron bay | 2 Comments

I had never heard of Schoolies until I came to Byron Bay and volunteered at the Hub on Main Beach during the celebrations last year Right now Schoolies is on everybody’s minds and lips as the end of year school leaver’s celebrations come closer (November).

Today the people who make sure that schoolies is safe and secure in Byron Bay met to sign a Joint Vision Statement for this year’s Byron Schoolies Safety Response. Some of the key members include Byron Shire Council, Byron Youth Service and The Red Frogs.

This means that everyone is basically on the same page when it comes to the wellbeing of Schoolies. The key messages of this statement were Respect, Responsibility & Relax.

Over 10,000 young people will be coming our way over a period of 16 days. What you may not know is there are people that work all year round to make sure it runs like clockwork and that everyone has a great time.

The real byron bay will definitely be volunteering at the Hub this year. Can’t wait to see you there!
